My passion for dogs began when I arrived in Sydney in 1985 and bred Mini Schnauzers.  Prior to moving to Broome, I was teaching obedience training in Sydney at Leichhardt Dog Training Club and was Vice President and set up the business “Paws & Effect”. I earned a Sport Science Degree from UNSW and now teach the sport of agility with Paws & Effect Dog Training, Broome WA.

I have also studied at TAFE and have received my Certificate 3 in Animal Care and Management and in the past worked for Malcolm Douglas Wildlife Park as head Keeper training Dingos and was involved in the Bilby breeding program. I have a great interest in animal behaviour and have studied it at great lengths. I have studied and received my FIR 3 from ASPCA in Disaster Response, FEMA-Emergency Management Institute in Animal Disaster Management and Emergency Sheltering from University of Albany, NY.

I have currently have an 8 year old Tamauruke, Tonka, to add to my busy life.  I am a proud member of APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers), ASSAB (Australasia Society for the Study of Animal Behaviour), AABP (Association of Animal Behaviour Professionals), Pet Profesisonals Guild, Canine Assoc. of WA and presenter for the Doggone Safe  Bite Prevention Program for Kids.

25 years ago my husband and I brought home our first puppy—a German Shepherd. I discovered very early that patience, consistency and a love of our four legged friend’s results in our dog understanding our expectations.I am an active supporter of S.A.F.E herein Broome and have rescued my latest pup, Titch. While living in Sydney I joined the Leichhardt Dog Training Club and later became a trainer and President of LDTC before relocating to Broome W.A.

I am currently a partner of Paws & Effect and a proud member of APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers), ASSAB (Australasia Society for the Study of Animal Behaviour) and presenter for Doggone Safe Bite prevention program for Kids.
